Ok here’s the deal. I bought a 95 Savage with some discoloration on the exhaust...but a small amount. The bike had 2500 miles when purchased. After only riding for a couple of hundred miles the pipe now has a yellowish tint. Why didn’t the discoloration appear in the first 2500 miles? Also, I’m hearing a ticking noise coming from the engine after it warms up. Could these two items be related in any way? (I’m running premium or 93 Octane gas...the oil was changed by the dealer before I purchased the bike...I have no idea what brand or weight. I plan on doing an oil change myself within the next couple of weeks) I’ve read that in previous posts that this seems to be normal for thumpers...Tell me my Savage is normal, to calm down and enjoy the ride...and all will be well once again.
Other observations...squeaky front brakes, occasional backfiring, Hang on tight in the wind, nice handling, and a heck of a lot fun to ride!
